As recently seen on the TV and debated in the papers very often the general public put themselves in a disadvantaged and vulnerable position when they use unregulated Will companies to advise on and write their Wills.
Unbeknown to the public at large, many Wills are badly drafted, they do not reflect the wishes of the client and can be incredibly expensive.
It is with some relief therefore that the Legal Services Board has confirmed it will be recommending to the Lord Chancellor next year that all such business should be reserved to professionals regulated by an approved regulator within the meaning of the Legal Services Act 2007.
The Law society has welcomed the news.
