Since April 2013 when legal aid no longer became available for financial proceedings following divorce or for applications to court in connection with children issues (where Social Services are not involved), people now have to pay for legal advice, or make their own applications to court which can often be a daunting experience. Worse still, many have decided to take no action at all!
