2015 was a long year – there were a couple of major changes for Martyn Prowel Solicitors, and a great deal was achieved. In the interest of fitting a portion of it in to this article I’m going to dive straight in and aim to keep it brief…
We’ll begin near enough to where the year ended, the major change of note in 2015: our office move. When the company formed in July 1996 operations began at Hallinan’s House, and nearly 20 years later we were still at that location. Well, 2015 saw us up and move to The Aspect on Queen Street! It’s a fresh, modern office space in the heart of the city centre, and close to major transport links in Cardiff.
You may have also noticed, if you’ve visited us at the new offices, that we’ve also refreshed the brand! The new brand aims to reflect our focus on the client, and simplify the different aspects of our services, through which we can help with: your family, your home, your future, and your case.
Although the move was an important change for us as a company, it wasn’t the only important thing that happened over 2015. We retained all of our accreditations, a testament to our exceptional service in every area, and were also successful in the tender for duty solicitor contracts for legal aid. Furthermore, we once again received recognition in the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners 2015 publications.
2015 also saw us repeatedly featured in the Western Mail and other local publications. In these our hugely successful charity evening was reported (where we managed to raise over £2,000 for LATCH Welsh Children’s Cancer Charity), and our growth over the year as we took on several new members of staff.
Overall, the firm did exceptionally well; but what of individuals within Martyn Prowel Solicitors? Well, in this respect there are two key people worth mentioning, both members of our Civil Litigation Department. Caron Rockey, Director at Martyn Prowel Solicitors and Head of Civil Litigation, was shortlisted in the prestigious Law Society Excellence Awards for the Woman Lawyer of the Year Award. Although Caron didn’t win, it is a huge achievement to have been recognised by The Law Society in this way, and to have been shortlisted for her contributions within the legal sector.
Secondly our Janine Griffiths, Associate Solicitor, was listed in VouchedFor’s Top UK Professionals supplement within The Sunday Times’. She was the only solicitor in Cardiff to be noted, and was recognised for her exceptional client service and expertise within the field.
So, there you have it – 2015 was a long year.
Our 2015 was long because it was so full, because we managed to squeeze so much in; it was a long year, but a good year. And now, we’re looking to another long year, one in which we can fit even more success into, one in which we can grow even further, and one in which we can still prove to be the centre for excellence we strive to be.
