John McCarthy

John qualified as a solicitor in 1997, having trained at a large and well-respected Criminal Law Firm in London. He has worked since in south Wales where he became a Court & Police Station Duty Solicitor in 1999. John headed up Leo Abse & Cohen’s well-known Cardiff Criminal Law Team between 2003 and 2006.

Over his career John has specialised in criminal defence work including police station representation and advocacy within the Magistrates Court.

John obtained his Higher Rights Advocacy Qualification in 2011 and has since appeared in the Appeal Courts of England and Wales.

He works out of our Bridgend Office.
