Geraint qualified as a solicitor in 1984. He has extensive experience as a crime specialist. He regularly represents clients facing charges in relation to all aspects of criminal law. He has represented clients facing serious criminal offences including murder, rape, robbery, offences of violence, dishonesty offences, drugs offences, sexual offences, and complex fraud cases. In 2001, he attained the Higher Courts Advocate qualification, granting him rights of audience in the Crown Court and has dealt with a number of cases as an advocate in the Crown Court, most recently representing a client involved in a large scale conspiracy. He has a reputation as one of the very best criminal defence advocates and is specifically mentioned in the Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners as one of the best criminal lawyers in Wales.
Geraint also prosecutes cases on behalf of the RSPCA in cases involving various aspects of animal cruelty and neglect.
In addition, Geraint is a member of the Test Board of the Professional Development Unit at the Cardiff Law School where he trains and assesses candidates wishing to attain the Police Station Accreditation and Magistrates Court Duty Solicitor qualifications.
